Tap To Glow: Honey And Turmeric Tapping

Looking to get a quick glow and don’t have the time to book a facial? Here’s the easiest and fastest way to get your skin glowing, and it won’t break the bank.

Sure, we know there’s a lot of loving for turmeric at the moment, and we’ve happily jumped on board with it – I try to ignore that it turns all my food a bright yellow! From what we’ve read there’s only good stuff about it and in the case of skin, it helps with sun-damage, scarring and excess oil production. It has great anti- inflammatory properties and helps with skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis. Best news, it’s going to be okay on any sensitive skins out there.

As for honey, I don’t think it needs too much explaining. Honey is, as far as Ali and I are concerned, one of nature’s best inventions. It is antibacterial and healing. It is great for spots. It is full of anti-oxidants so is anti-aging. It is moisturising and soothing. Do I even need to say more?

I didn’t think so.

Here’s what you need for your honey tapping experience:

1 teaspoon of honey

1/4 teaspoon Turmeric

Cleanse the skin and pat dry. Mix turmeric and honey into a paste and pat onto the skin.

With flat fingertips gently pat the skin, moving up and down (ie move your fingertips from chin to forehead and back down to chin). Focus around the eyes and problem areas. After five minutes wash skin with warm water. Dry and apply your products.

The action of tapping with this sticky mixture on the face helps to loosen blackheads and blockages, lift and remove dry dead skin cells and stimulate circulation to the skin which in turn aids oxygenation and sends nutrients to the skin cells.

I typically do this treatment in the evening or before applying my potions and heading out. It leaves the skin looking uber bright, glowing and plump.

This mixture can also be left on for 15-20 minutes as a face mask once tapping has been done.
